Missing Film-Makers
Two Iranian film-makers, by the names of Kourosh Kar and Farshad Faraji have gone to Iraq to make a movie called "In Search of Cyrus the Great". Well, it seems like they are both missing themselves!
The news is that Kourosh Kar and Farshid Faraji (the colleague) have both been arrested by the US forces in Iraq. Mr. Kar's name is in the list of the Red Cross and his arrest has been reported by his family (who live in the US) to the officials. Mr. Faraji, however, has no such luck and apparently his situation is not at all known. He is a young film-maker with no political connexions whose sole purpose has been to make a movie about history.
I would like to ask everyone here who is an American to make an effort of calling some local officials (senators, reperesentatives, etc.) and expressing concern about the matter. The poor guy is probably waiting in a prison for someone to come and look at his file and set him free.
Please help if you can.
P.S.: Apparently I got the names and the relations wrong the first time around. Thanks to Sima for correcting me.

Khodadad aziz,
It's Farshid Faraji (not Farjami) whose name does not appear on Red Cross's list. Koroush Kar was registered by the Red Cross, but there's no news about Farshid's Whereabouts. Please change the info.
Thanks,
Sima

What a time to go to Iraq to make a movie. And in any case, didn't we do the revolution so that we wouldn't have to deal with kings and start being civilized? But one thing is for sure, there is no end to American crimes in Iraq, and this is merely the latest example.

Hi Khodadad,
I emailed my U.S. Senators and Representative asking them if they could inquire about the whereabouts of Farshid Faraji. I hope that he will turn up soon.
Considering the election aftermath, I am a bit hesitant to toot my own horn, but I have a new post. Btw, I am curious about your thoughts regarding Ahmadinejad and the implications of his election.

Facts: Koroush is a longtime friend of mine of over 30 Years. I have been in contact with his family. We are in the midst of setting up a website that will hopefully combine all of our efforts worldwide. Koroush is a pure soul and I know he has voiced his main concern, finding his dear friend and colleague Farshid Faraji. All of his friends and family here are concerned and focusing on finding the "whereablouts" of Farshid just as much as for Koroush. For those of us who know him understand his deep loyalty to his friends and colleagues. Stay tuned..

Just wanted to update everyone incase you didn't know yet. Farshid and Cyrus have been released! They are still in Baghdad, but should be returning home soon. Cyrus's family and friends in the US worked very hard to bring attention to their situation. With the help of the ACLU and the media, they have been released. There are articles in the LA and NY Times.
To Farshid's family, I am Cyrus' cousin. He repeatedly mentioned that he would NOT leave with out Farshid. We mentioned Farshid's name at every press conference and every interview, even though the newspapers didn't always print it and the news didn't broadcast it. This has been a traumatic time for all Farshid and Cyrus' family. I pray that everyone will heal quickly. God Bless.
