Drive
...
You can't go on
Thinking nothing's wrong
Who's gonna drive you home tonight

This post presented something of a puzzle to me. It seemed like the lyrics of a song, but the words didn't sound familiar. So, I did some web searching. I finally nailed it down as a song by The Cars. I remember The Cars and used to like some of their music, but I still didn't recognize these lyrics. Finally, I located an instrumental sound file for "Drive" and listened. Instantly I recognized the melody and as I listened the lyrics suddenly fit the music. This was a great song that I really liked and yet it took a lot of prodding to recall my memories of this song. It is interesting how memories can be compartmentalized in such a way that it takes certain cues to bring them to the surface. I am curious, what inspired you to post these lyrics?

Wow, David, I am glad that my little post prompted you to do so much research! You are right, this is the chorus section of Drive from the Cars.
What inspired me? Well, some personal stuff, close to the type that the Cars were singing about. Not as serious though!
