Where have all the stupid people gone?
These days, kids who get bad grades all have ADD. Stupid adults, particularly those in charge, are either trying to get close to the "common man" or they just are free-thinkers going against the conventional wisdom.
As a historian and someone concerned about endangered species, I am getting worried about the weighning population of the Stupid People.
Where are they?
Unnecessary notice: this piece should be ignored as the utterances of a stupid person!

Khodadad doost man, you are certainly not a stupid person! Your post reminds me of some convicted former chief executives who recently tried to claim that they were really stupid and out of the loop in the midst of huge financial scandals allegedly perpetrated by their evil genius underlings! :) Also, there seem to be many people these days insisting that all children can learn to be computer programmers and other asorted high tech workers. I am sorry, but I went to school with some genuinely stupid children. There will always be some kids that no matter how many resources are put at their disposal will never be proficient at math and science. That doesn't mean they can't learn to be good at something, though. I am worried that so much high tech curricular crap is being force fed to today's school kids, because of mandated programs like the so called "no child left behind" law here in the U.S., that kids no longer enjoy learning. I think that school should be about helping every child to find a place in society that they will enjoy occupying. Unfortunately, it seems that the goal of public education these days is to turn out obedient cogs for the corporate machine!

I hope this one goes through... I wanted to say, the Chair of my department, Avital Ronell, has written a book On Stupidity 2003, which is very interesting. It is based on readings of high philosophy and literature. I recommend it highly, though, look at it first in a book store, before committing... Best, Amir
By the way, in case this goes through, I couldn't post here before...
