Bigger things to come?
In light of Mr. Bush's recent casual admitance about the existence of CIA secret prisons and keeping of the suspects in other countries (why? no one picked up on that last detail...), I think we have to look for bigger things to come.
The G. W. Bush and Partners Corporation seems to have a very easy time doing and saying anything it wants (see this excellent angry comment by a journalist) without regards for any criticims. I would thus tend to think that they have even bigger things for us in the store, stuff that we can probably not even imagine today. I just wonder what they are...

The Bloggermann speaks the truth! Actually, I think there are more parallels between pre WWII Nazi Germany and the Bush administration than between the Nazis and Osama. I recall an interesting article that I read last year that detailed the rise of nearly all powerful corporations in 1930's Germany. The whole society was strictly regimented into various giant corporate anthills. The way that giant corporations dominate America today and seek yet more power and control is really frightening! Dick Cheney is the ultimate corporate insider, and for the past six years he has been like the spider at the center of a massive corporate web with the body of average Americans entangled, cocooned, and being slowly sucked dry of life.
What more does BU$HCO have in store? Well, a lot depends on the November elections. Democrats are not exactly free of the taint of corporate influence peddling, but at least they're not Republicans. Come November I'll be doing my usual pulling of Democratic levers. I hope that a few more of my fellow citizens will join me this time around!

Failure of imagination is precisely what is the problem and can not bring the "wondering" to any answer. But not being able to imagine might have to do with restrictions that we ourselves put on ourselves. Imagination will get weaker as self-censorship will increase and that seems almost programmed to bring about some of the worst-case senarios... And of course the blame is always on someone else... Why not Bush? It is safe-enough, everyone has been on that bandwagon for quite a while... And quite interestingly, again, he is in charge precisely because his critics lack imagination but are quick on the trigger of blame... (when it's safe.) It is "internalization" of fear and censorship if you will, that has brought us here and quite possible would lead to quite imaginable ends... By the way Khodadad, did you hear that while you were on vacation some student who was arrested during the reformist circus was killed in Evin... And another one just the other day... Please expand further on Bush's crimes in Guantanamo in order to justify these... After all you should say something about it... I know at the time you were very much identifying with the student movement that was crushed under the watch of Khatami's government with extreme violence... If Bush and the Sassanids would ever give you a chance...
