German Train Strike: 200 km driving to get to the airport
Istanbul at 4:30 pm, immediatly proceeding to the Hagia Sophia (Justinian's church of the Holy Wisdom)...
People watching for three hours, enthusiasim preventing self from getting back to the hotel...
Splitting headache, but extreme delight...

Sorry to hear about your rough trip and splitting headache, but as you are enthused and delighted to be in Istanbul it sounds like it was worth the effort to get there. Have fun and tell us about it. :)
I saw a program recently about underground Istanbul. Really quite fascinating! They even went exploring into the flooded caverns of the Hippodrome. Well, try not to get lost in the subterranean ruins! ;)
