Tehran, again!
I just arrived in Tehran. This ought to be the most polluted, most traffic-jammed (can one make a participle out of jam?) and the craziest city on earth.
Upon recovering from the shock of arrival, I will write more.

Harry Potter
I just finished reading the latest volume of Harry Potter (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince). I have a lot to say about it, since I seriously read more deeply to it than a regular children's book.
I will write about it a bit later, since I am on the road now.

Air Force One...
Last night, I watched the movie "Air Force One" (the one with Harrison Ford as the president) here. I hadn't seen it for awhile, I guess since it first came out. When I was younger, I found it a very interesting action-adventure movie, and did not think of it much.
However, watching it last night, I thought of something: did George W. Bush watch this movie before running for the president? Or maybe immediately after the 9/11 Catastrophe?
It seems to me that "James Marshall" (Harrison Ford's character) is what GWB imagines himself to be.

Update
Hello again. Sorry for neglecting the weblog for the past few days. Believe it or not, I have not yet gotten over the jet-lag and still fall asleep in the afternoon and get-up in the middle of the night.
Other than that, I have been trying to give myself a crach course in Indo-European linguistics, since I realised I don't know many basic things of phonology and morphology. In this quest, I have found out many interesting things which I will write about later.
Meanwhile, how many words can you count in English that have been borrowed from Old Norse?

From Germany
I am writing these from Germany. Have been here for two days now, after a rather horrible flight (sitting between two drunks for 11 hours should constitute such title, don't you think?).
I am okay and will try to write a bit more later. 'til then, TTFN.

On the Road Again...
I am travelling again! Have been in Berkeley for two weeks, visiting my parents, and tomorrow I am off to Germany for a few weeks and then to Iran, hopefully. I am supposed to do some research on some ancient seals and bullae there. Who knows if I really get to do that with all that is going on there. Let's hope it all goes okay!
As usual, despite all my travel experience, I get really cold feet just before I am supposed to leave (like brides before approaching the alter!!!).
I have also bought a new laptop with longer battery life, so I will be able to work from the plain and blog from the sky! So, 'til my next post from Germany, keep safe and aufwieder-schreiben!
